Product Description
After adding Ti as a stabilizing element, 321 stainless steel exhibits excellent hot strength, which is better than 316L steel. It has excellent wear resistance in various organic and inorganic acids even at different concentrations and temperatures. Additionally, Type 321 stainless steel is particularly effective in oxidizing environments. This makes it ideal for fabricating acid resistant vessels, equipment linings and piping.
The composition of 321 stainless steel includes nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr) and titanium (Ti), which is an austenitic stainless steel alloy. Similar to 304 stainless steel with similar properties. However, the addition of titanium improves its corrosion resistance along grain boundaries and enhances its strength at high temperatures. The addition of titanium effectively prevents the formation of chromium carbides in the alloy.
321 stainless steel has excellent properties in terms of high temperature stress rupture and creep resistance. Its mechanical properties under high temperature conditions exceed those of 304 stainless steel. Therefore, it is ideal for welding applications involving components operating at high temperatures.
